Trust & privacy
What we do with your data. Plainly.
The short version: your resume stays with you, nothing is sent without you, and we don’t fake anything. The full privacy policy is here.
Stays on your computer
Your resume, your saved answers, your job list and your tracker live in your Chrome browser. Knock has no server that receives them.
Your copy, in your Google Drive
- If you sign in with Google, Knock keeps a backup in a hidden app folder in your own Google Drive, so you don’t lose your work if you change laptops.
- Only Knock can read that folder. You can remove it from your Google account at any time.
- Not signed in? Nothing is backed up anywhere.
What goes to Google, and when
The AI parts use your own free Gemini key. When you use them, the text needed (for example your resume) goes from your browser straight to Google, not through us.
Honest note: Google’s free tier may use what you send to improve its products. If that matters to you, turn on billing in your Google account, or don’t use AI. Search, sponsor records and form filling work without it.
What we do hold
If you join the beta or pay, we hold your email address and your plan. Our payment provider holds your payment details. We never see your card.
Things we will never do
- Never press Submit. You send every application.
- Never invent. No skill, employer or number that your resume doesn’t back up.
- Never touch LinkedIn. Knock doesn’t read, automate or add anything to LinkedIn. LinkedIn restricts accounts that use tools like that.
- Never let AI answer your visa questions. Those answers are yours.
- Never buy reviews. We don’t pay for reviews, post as fake users or hide an affiliation. If we ask for a review, we ask everyone at the same moment.
- Never sell your data. There’s nothing on our side to sell.
- Never trap your money. See the Fair Billing Pledge.
Every badge has a source
- USCIS H-1B Employer Data Hub (US)
- Home Office register of licensed sponsors (UK, Open Government Licence)
- IND public register of recognised sponsors (Netherlands)
- Positive LMIA employers (Canada, Open Government Licence – Canada)
Each badge shows the source and date. No badge means we don’t know. A record shows past sponsorship, not a promise. We’re not affiliated with any of these agencies.
What the extension can see
Knock runs on the job boards and application forms it supports, and only does something there when you ask.
Leaving is easy
Remove the extension and your browser data goes with it. Remove Knock’s access in your Google account to delete the Drive backup.
