Ireland
Ireland: make your Stamp 1G count.
Stamp 1G lets you work while you look. To stay, most graduates need an employment permit, and the job and salary decide which one.
The route after study
- Stamp 1G lets you work full time while you look for a graduate job.
- To stay, most people move to an employment permit. The Critical Skills Employment Permit starts at €40,904 a year, or €36,848 if you qualified in the last 12 months, for jobs on the critical skills list.
Your clock
- Your Stamp 1G end date is on your Irish Residence Permit.
The question that trips people up
- “Do you have full rights to work in Ireland?” On Stamp 1G you can work now, but you’ll need a permit to stay longer.
- Say both clearly. A flat “No” often means an automatic rejection, and a flat “Yes” can come back to bite you.
What Knock checks here
- Whether the job’s advertised pay looks above the Critical Skills minimum, where pay is shown.
Language reality
- English. Commenters describe the market as competitive for roles that need a permit, so aim at critical-skills jobs first.
Scams to avoid
- Never pay for a job offer or an employment permit.
- Check any immigration agent carefully, and get rules from the official pages only.
